Electronic record and signature disclosure

Please read this before you agree to sign a document electronically through SignPDF. It explains what you're agreeing to and what you can ask for.

What you're agreeing to

The person or organisation who sent you the document (the sender) uses Sign PDF to collect signatures. By ticking the box on the signing page you agree to receive the document electronically and to sign it with an electronic signature. You agree that your electronic signature has the same legal effect as your handwritten signature on the same document.

Getting a paper copy

You can download the finished document, with its certificate of completion, from the link we email you once everyone has signed. You can print it. If you'd like the sender to give you a paper copy instead, contact them directly; they may charge for it.

Withdrawing your consent

You can withdraw your consent before you sign by choosing “Decline to sign” on the signing page, or by telling the sender. Withdrawing doesn't affect anything you've already signed. After withdrawing, the sender will need to agree another way of signing with you.

What you need

  • A current web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, on a computer, tablet or phone.
  • An email address you can access, to receive the signing link and, if the sender asked for it, a six digit code.
  • A PDF reader or browser that opens PDF files, to view and keep your copy.

Keeping your contact details up to date

If your email address changes before you've signed, tell the sender so they can send the document to your new address.

What we record

To show that you signed, we record your name and email, the times you confirmed your email code, agreed to this disclosure, opened the document and signed, your IP address and the approximate location it points to, and the browser and device you used. This appears on the certificate of completion that all parties receive. See our privacy policy for more.
