Short answer

Send your ceramic coating agreement or paint correction waiver through Sign PDF, and the vehicle owner signs it on their phone in the driveway or at drop-off. Attach the condition report with existing chips and scratches on the same PDF, so the owner initials what was already there before you touch the paint.

The condition report comes first

Most detailing complaints are about damage that was there before. A walk-around with photos, marked on a car outline, signed by the owner before you start, settles the stone chip on the hood or the curb rash on the wheel in your favour.

Put the condition sheet on the first page of your agreement and type 'owner initials the condition page' in the Sign PDF editor. The owner signs on their phone at drop-off, or in the driveway if you are mobile.

What a paint correction and coating waiver should say

Paint correction removes clear coat. On a thin or repainted panel there may not be enough to remove the defect safely, so your terms should say you will stop and ask rather than go through. Coatings have their own conditions.

  • Defects you expect to remove and those you do not, such as deep scratches through the clear coat.
  • Cure time and what the owner must avoid: rain, washing, bird droppings left to bake.
  • Aftercare and the maintenance wash schedule tied to any product warranty.
  • Your liability limits, and what you are not responsible for, such as failed aftermarket paint.
  • Photos of the car for your portfolio, as a separate yes or no.

Fleet, dealer and maintenance plans

Recurring work for a dealership, rental fleet or a car club is better on a service agreement than on one-off waivers. Set the visit frequency, the price per vehicle, who signs off each car, and what happens when a car is not on site when you arrive.

Send the agreement to the fleet manager and, if their company needs it, to a second approver after them. One document covers the whole contract, however many cars it lists.

Waivers have limits

A waiver records that the owner understood the risks. In many places it will not excuse your own negligence, and consumer law may override terms that are unfair. Get your template checked once by a lawyer where you work. This is not legal advice.

Plan and what we do not cover

A detailer coating a handful of cars a month and sending a waiver with each will want Full at $10 a month: unlimited documents and a saved template. Light at $5 covers 2 documents a month, enough for a part-time detailer who only coats now and then.

We do not book appointments, take deposits or keep a customer list. Your booking tool does that; Sign PDF gets the waiver signed.

Questions people ask

Can I include photos of the car in the agreement?

Yes. Add them to the PDF, or upload JPG or PNG photos and they become part of the signed document. iPhone HEIC files need exporting as JPEG first.

Can a dealer sign a monthly maintenance agreement for several cars?

Yes. Put the vehicles and the monthly price on one service agreement and send it to the dealer's manager.

What if the owner is not at drop-off?

Send the link to their email. They sign wherever they are, and you see the signed copy as soon as they finish.

Does Sign PDF register the coating warranty?

No. Register it with the coating manufacturer as usual. We handle the signed agreement only.
