Sign PDF

Comparison

Sign PDF vs Adobe Acrobat Sign

Short answer

Adobe sells e-signatures to individuals through Acrobat Standard, at $24.99 a month month to month or $14.99 a month on an annual plan that charges a fee if you cancel after 14 days. Sign PDF costs $10 a month for unlimited documents with no annual plan, and places the signature boxes for you. Acrobat is the better buy if you also need a full PDF editor or Adobe's Salesforce and Workday integrations.

Why people switch to Sign PDF

  • Pay $10 a month with no annual plan and no cancellation fee
  • Boxes placed and matched to each signer the moment you upload
  • Change fields by typing "add a witness" instead of dragging each one
  • Every signed file sealed, with a public page anyone can use to check it
  • Signers confirm a six-digit email code before they sign

When Adobe Acrobat Sign is the better choice

  • You edit, convert or redact PDFs often and want one subscription for that and signatures.
  • Your team works in Salesforce, Workday or Microsoft Teams and wants signing inside those tools.
  • You need bulk sending or a signable web form on your site, which Acrobat Pro includes.
  • Your company already pays for Adobe licences, so signatures cost nothing extra.

What does Adobe Acrobat Sign cost for one person?

Adobe no longer sells a cheap standalone e-signature plan to individuals on its public price list. Requesting signatures comes inside Acrobat. The cheapest plan that can send is Acrobat Standard, and Adobe's US business pricing page lists three ways to pay for it: $24.99 a month with no commitment, $14.99 a month on an annual plan billed monthly, or $179.88 paid up front for the year.

The middle option is the one most people pick, and it has a catch. Adobe's own terms on that page say a fee of up to half the remaining annual commitment applies if you cancel after 14 days. The prepaid plan has no refund after 14 days.

Acrobat Sign as a standalone product, with unlimited seats, is aimed at medium and large businesses and priced through Adobe's sales team. Its price is not published.

What you get with Sign PDF instead

Sign PDF does one job. You upload a contract, lease or offer letter, and we place the signature, initials, date and name boxes, working out which signer each belongs to from the wording around them. You check them, add names and emails, and send.

The Full plan is $10 a month, month to month, for unlimited documents. If you only send one or two things a month, Light is $5. Cancel and the plan simply runs to the end of the month you paid for. There is no cancellation fee because there is no year to buy out.

Every completed file gets a certificate of completion, a digital seal with an independent DigiCert timestamp, and a QR code to our public verify page, signpdf.ai/verify.

Where Acrobat is ahead

Acrobat is a full PDF editor first. You can edit text in a PDF, convert files, compare versions, redact and organise pages. Sign PDF does none of that. If you edit PDFs every week, paying Adobe once for both makes sense.

Adobe also lists integrations we do not have: sending and signing inside Microsoft Word, Teams, Salesforce and Workday, and saving to Box, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive. Acrobat Pro adds bulk sending and web forms people can sign on your website, and Adobe's Acrobat Sign page mentions collecting payments. We offer none of those.

  • Full PDF editing and conversion
  • Word, Teams, Salesforce and Workday integrations
  • Bulk send and signable web forms on Acrobat Pro
  • A standalone Acrobat Sign product for large teams, through sales

Placing the signature boxes

Adobe's pricing FAQ lists "smart form field detection" among Acrobat's automation features, without saying which plan includes it. In practice Acrobat's detection is built around turning a flat PDF into a fillable form.

Sign PDF goes one step further for contracts: each box is assigned to a signer by reading the labels near it, such as Landlord, Tenant or Witness. Then you can type changes in plain English, for example "tenant initials every page" or "landlord signs first", and the fields update. You can undo anything it changes.

Questions people ask

Is Adobe Acrobat Sign free?

Signing a document someone sends you is free. Sending documents for signature needs a paid Acrobat plan. Adobe's pricing page shows no free trial on Acrobat Standard, though Pro and Studio have one.

Can I cancel Acrobat any time?

Only on the month-to-month plan, which costs more. On the annual plan billed monthly, Adobe charges a fee of up to half your remaining commitment if you cancel after 14 days. Sign PDF is month to month only.

Does Sign PDF edit PDFs like Acrobat?

No. We place fields, collect signatures and seal the finished file. If you need to change the text of a PDF, use an editor first and then upload the result to us. Word files can come straight to us and are converted to PDF.

Are Sign PDF signatures as valid as Adobe's?

For ordinary contracts, yes. Both are electronic signatures under the US ESIGN Act, UETA and EU eIDAS. We add a certificate of completion, a hash-chained audit trail and a timestamped seal. This is not legal advice, so ask a lawyer about high-stakes documents.

Who should stay with Acrobat Sign?

Teams that use Acrobat for editing anyway, or that need Salesforce or Workday integrations, bulk send and web forms. Those are real features we do not offer.
