Short answer
Upload your residential solar installation agreement to Sign PDF, add every owner on title as a signer, and each signs on their own device after confirming an email code. The utility's interconnection agreement and any loan or lease paperwork usually come from the utility or lender's own system; Sign PDF handles your installation contract, disclosures and change orders.

What a residential solar installation agreement covers
A solar contract is bigger than most home improvement paperwork, and buyers read it more closely because the sums are larger. It should name the system size in kW, the panel and inverter models, the racking, where the array goes, and the price before and after any incentive you mention.
Production figures need careful wording. State them as estimates, give the assumptions (orientation, shading, the tool used), and avoid anything that reads as a promised saving. Add what is excluded: roof repairs, tree work, trenching for ground mounts, and any main panel upgrade the inspector asks for.
Who signs, and in what order
If two people are on the deed, both normally sign. Add each with their own email and set the order: owners first, your authorised signatory last. Each signer confirms a code sent to their inbox, and the certificate of completion records their name, email, IP address, device and the time they signed.
Some states require extra signed disclosures for residential solar. California, for example, requires a solar consumer protection guide to be provided and signed. Check your state's rules and include the required pages in the same PDF so they are signed together. This is not legal advice.
Interconnection, financing and the documents we do not replace
Your utility issues its own interconnection agreement, often through its portal, and lenders and lease providers run their own signing flows. We do not replace those, and we do not integrate with them. Sign PDF covers the documents that come from you: the installation agreement, the site survey consent, roof access permission, and change orders.
Door-to-door and in-home solar sales also attract cooling-off rules. The FTC's Cooling-Off Rule and several state laws give buyers a set number of days to cancel. Put the cancellation notice in the contract you send.
Change orders after the site survey
The survey often changes the job. The main panel is too small, a rafter needs sistering, or the client wants a battery after all. Send a change order with the revised price and the signed original stays sealed as it was, so you have both on record.
Installers typically send several documents per job, so Full at $10 a month with unlimited documents and templates is the sensible plan. Light at $5 for 2 documents a month suits a small crew doing one install at a time. We do not collect deposits or run your CRM.
Questions people ask
Can the homeowners sign from different places?
Yes. Each owner gets their own email link and signs on their own phone or computer, in order if you set one.
Can I use Sign PDF for the utility interconnection agreement?
If the utility accepts a PDF signed electronically, yes. Many utilities require their own portal or form, so follow what yours asks for.
Does Sign PDF work with solar loan or lease platforms?
No. We have no integrations with lenders or CRMs. Finance documents are usually signed in the lender's own system.
Is a solar contract signed electronically enforceable?
In the US, the ESIGN Act and UETA generally make electronic signatures valid for contracts like this, provided the signer consents to sign electronically, which Sign PDF records. State consumer protection rules still apply. Ask a lawyer to check your template.
