Dubai property management agreements, signed online
Short answer
In Dubai, a licensed property management company registers its contract with each owner in Ejari, uploading a copy of the management contract signed by both. The registration is free on the DLD website. Sign PDF gets the contract signed by an owner anywhere in the world, plus the key handover, inventory and condition reports that follow.

Why owners use a management company
Owners who live abroad, or who own several units, often hand them to a property management company. In 2018 the DLD said that licensed management companies may sign tenancy contracts and receive payments for owners, while leasing brokers may not. That makes the management contract the document that lets someone else run the tenancy.
Registering the contract in Ejari
The DLD's service for registering and renewing a real estate management contract is for management companies licensed for a tenancy-related activity. They upload a copy of the management contract signed between the owner and the company through Ejari online, and the DLD lists the service as free and taking about 10 minutes. The registered contract comes back by email.
A copy signed in Sign PDF is a signed copy of the contract. If the DLD ever asks for something else, follow its instructions.
What the agreement should cover
Write the authority clearly; it is what the company relies on when it signs tenancies.
- The unit, with title deed number and community, for example a one-bedroom in JLT
- Fee, usually a percentage of rent collected, and VAT
- Authority to find tenants, sign tenancy contracts and register them in Ejari
- Rent collection, cheque handling and when funds go to the owner
- Maintenance spending limit before the owner must approve
- Notice to end the agreement and handing back keys and records
Handover and inventory forms
Most deposit disputes come down to the condition of the unit at move-in. A dated inventory and condition report, signed by the tenant and the company with photos attached, settles them. Upload the report, add the tenant and inspector, and they sign on a phone during the inspection. The same applies to key handover receipts and access card counts.
What Sign PDF does not do
We do not register contracts in Ejari, run a tenant portal, collect rent or hold deposits. There are no team seats yet, so each manager works in their own account. Signing pages can be in English or Arabic, and links go by email.
Questions people ask
Does a Dubai management contract have to be registered?
Licensed management companies register it through the DLD's Ejari service, which asks for a copy of the contract signed by owner and company. Check with the DLD for your company's obligations.
Can an overseas owner sign the management agreement online?
Yes. They get the link by email and sign in their browser. If they would rather use a power of attorney, that is a separate document that may need notarising.
Can tenants sign the inventory on a phone?
Yes. Add them as a signer and they sign during the inspection, with no app or account.
Does a management contract let the company sign tenancies?
Only if it says so. Spell out the authority to sign tenancy contracts, collect rent and register with Ejari.
